Gilas Men to open SEAG title defense vs Vietnam, Malaysia

For both Gilas teams, they need to finish atop their respective groups to earn an outright spot to the semifinals.
In the men’s competition, Gilas, Vietnam and Malaysia are in Group A while four other teams, namely Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar.
The Nationals open their SEAG title defense wiith a match against Malaysians on Dec. 14 then against the Vietnamese the day after.
Gilas, as earlier announced by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, will be composed of an entirely different team from its roster for the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
It will be handled by Norman Black with guys like Justin Brownlee, Ray Parks, Matthew Wright, Remy Martin, Thirdy Ravena, Dave Ildefonso, Jason Brickman, Ange Kouame, Mike Phillips, Kymani Ladi, Veejay Pre, and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser already committing to the team.
In the distaff side, the Nationals will open their campaign in Group B against Malaysia on Dec. 13 while before taking on Singapore the next day.
The other pool, meanwhile, has Indonesia, Vietnam and host Thailand.
