No Filipinos were reported injured in the magnitude-5.7 earthquake that struck Bangladesh on Friday, Nov. 21, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
In a statement, the DFA said the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka was monitoring the situation closely after the quake’s epicenter was traced just seven kilometers from Ghorashal in Narsingdi District, Dhaka Division.
The embassy has not received any reports of Filipinos harmed or affected, the DFA added.
There are 785 Filipinos in the country, including an estimated 200 to 300 residing in Dhaka, according to the DFA.
Philippine officials in Dhaka advised the Filipino community to remain calm but vigilant, and to follow updates from credible sources.

Local police said at least three people were killed and several others were injured following the quake.
The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) recorded the earthquake at a magnitude of 5.7 with a depth of 10 kilometers, while the United States Geological Survey located the epicenter in Narsingdi, about 40 kilometers east of Dhaka.
Tremors were also felt in bordering states in eastern India, although there were no immediate reports of major damage in either country.
