Akbayan Partylist gained access to Vice President Sara Duterte’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), which showed that she has a net worth of P88,512,370.22, up by P16.8 million from when she first became vice president.
The partylist publicized Duterte’s SALN on Wednesday, Nov. 20, along with those of President Marcos and several officials of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Commission on Audit (COA).
In Duterte’s SALN, she declared agricultural, memorial, and residential properties valued at P66,808,891 with her husband lawyer Manases Carpio and their children.
In 2023, her SALN was at P77,508,841, while she had a net worth of P71,658,841 in December 2022.
Earlier, the Vice President insisted that her SALN was not difficult to obtain, owing to the fact that her SALN was one of the subjects of complaint in the impeachment case filed against her at the House of Representatives.
The same partylist also released the SALN of Marcos, who has a declared total net worth of P389.357 million with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos as of Dec. 31, 2024. This is higher by P60.127 million from their joint net worth of P329.229 million as of June 30, 2022, when Marcos assumed the presidency.
Detained former president Rodrigo Duterte, on the other hand, declared a net worth of P37,305,462.17 based on his SALN as of June 30, 2022, when he stepped down from his office.
His real properties amounted to P480,000, while his personal properties totaled to P25,100,462.17. His net worth during his first term as president was P27,428,862.44 based on his Dec. 31, 2016 SALN.
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla earlier issued a memorandum setting new guidelines for the public access to the SALNs of public officials.
This reversed a 2020 circular by former Ombudsman Samuel Martires that restricted public access to the SALN by requiring the public official’s written and notarized consent before a SALN can be released.
