Police probe weaver's murder, offer P500,000 reward for killer's arrest
TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police are probing the murder of a well-known weaver here on Nov. 12.
The Kalinga Provincial Police Office has formed Task Force Irene to fast-track the investigation.
A P500,000 reward has been offered to quickly identify the suspect.
Gov. James Edduba, during the Kalinga Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting on Nov. 17, approved P700,000, P500,000 for the reward and P200,000 for the mobilization of the task force, based on the request of Kalinga police chief Police Col. Gilbert Fati-ig.
The victim, Irene Gayamos, 30, was found dead at 2:39 p.m. inside her house with stab wounds.
Gayamos was the wife of a police officer.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
Fati-ig urged the people to refrain from spreading unverified information that could hinder the investigation and cause unnecessary fear or confusion, especially on social media.
