Over 186,000 residents registered in PhilHealth's YAKAP program

More than 186,000 residents in Valenzuela are now registered under PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) program, giving them access to free primary care and preventive health services through accredited clinics across the city.
According to the city's Public Information Office, the increasing number of registered beneficiaries shows strong participation in the enhanced PhilHealth program, which offers regular checkups, screenings, and early monitoring of medical conditions.
The program supports the goals of the Universal Health Care Act.
Under the YAKAP, PhilHealth members and their dependents may select an accredited clinic and undergo a First Patient Encounter (FPE) to create a health profile that will guide continued monitoring and referrals.
The program also provides selected preventive and maintenance medicines through PhilHealth’s GAMOT initiative.
The city government said that a total of 52 health facilities in Valenzuela — consisting of 47 health centers, one private hospital, one public hospital, and three private clinics — are accredited to deliver YAKAP services.
It added that many registrations were processed during medical missions and that the program ensures residents have access to timely consultations and primary care throughout the year.
