A police informer was gunned down by three men, one of whom reportedly posed as a delivery rider, while seated in front of his residence in Pasay City on Tuesday night, Nov. 18.
Col. Joselito de Sesato, Pasay City Police chief, identified the victim as Pilo, 32. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital.
The victim was seated in front of his residence at the corner of Tramo and Vergel Streets, Barangay 116, Pasay City, at around 9:26 p.m. when the incident occurred.
Investigators reported that an unidentified suspect wearing a Joyride uniform arrived, pretending to deliver food allegedly ordered by the victim. He was followed by two men riding in tandem.
The city police chief said that based on profiling, Pilo was found to be a police informer of the Pasay City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU).
De Sesto added that on Sept. 23, 2025, Pilo provided information that led to the arrest of two drug suspects: alias Ron, who was caught with 5.4 grams of shabu, and alias Jaylan, who was found in possession of 10 grams of shabu. Both were detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility and charged with illegal possession of drugs.
Following the arrest of the two suspects, alias Cedric, a known ally of Ron and Jaylan, confronted Pilo and threatened to kill him.
Police are investigating the possibility that the motive for the killing was revenge by Cedric's group, placing him as a person of interest in Pilo's death.
