Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has formally introduced the all-new Mitsubishi Destinator, a seven-seat SUV developed to serve families seeking a practical everyday vehicle with long-trip capability. The model represents the production realization of the DST Concept unveiled at the Philippine International Motor Show last year, bringing the design study’s themes into a full-market model. It arrives at a time when demand for utility-oriented vehicles continues to grow, particularly among buyers who want a blend of size, comfort, and practicality within a compact footprint.
Comfort of a car, space of an SUV
The Destinator arrives as a new nameplate under Mitsubishi’s Philippine portfolio and is positioned as a crossover-influenced SUV that bridges the attributes of an MPV and a traditional sport utility vehicle. It rides on a body with SUV proportions and carries Mitsubishi’s latest design language through the Dynamic Shield fascia, flanked by LED headlamps and daytime running lamps. The exterior also features sculpted character lines and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels on higher variants, giving it a more refined appearance.
Flexible interior
Inside, the cabin is configured for seven occupants. Mitsubishi focused on interior flexibility, allowing the vehicle to accommodate families that require both passenger space and adaptable cargo layouts. The seats are supported by an ergonomic cabin layout and soft-touch elements that aim to create a comfortable environment during long drives. Safety features include Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing, which bundles active driver assistance systems such as Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, Leading Car Departure Notification, Auto High Beam, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. A Multi-Around Monitor is also available on select variants.
Dynamic power
The Destinator is powered by a newly developed 1.5-liter turbocharged 4B40 engine producing 163 PS and 250 Nm. The powertrain is paired with a continuously variable transmission. The model’s 214 mm ground clearance places it among the higher-riding vehicles in its segment. Five drive modes are available, including Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud, and a new Tarmac setting intended for improved stability on paved mountain routes or winding roads. Mitsubishi references its rally heritage in promoting this feature, drawing from the tuning philosophies used in previous performance models.
Mitsubishi Connect is also making its Philippine debut through this model. The system introduces connected car services such as remote door lock and unlock, climate control activation, vehicle locator functions, status reports, emergency response, and roadside assistance within a subscription platform. The Destinator carries a five-star safety rating from the ASEAN NCAP assessment program.
Smart features
Higher variants of the Destinator include convenience features such as a combined monolithic display panel that links the 12.3-inch Smartphone Display Audio with the 8-inch multi-information display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on these versions. A Smart Rear View Mirror, 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and an eight-speaker Yamaha audio system are also part of the equipment list. Mitsubishi added practical elements such as second-row seatback tables, Nanoe X air purification, and a cooled center console.
Now available
MMPC describes the Destinator as a vehicle suited for drivers who want SUV styling with everyday usability, particularly those with young families or those upgrading from smaller compact vehicles. Three variants are offered: GLX Turbo CVT, GLS Turbo CVT, and GT Turbo CVT are the three available variants. Regular pricing is set at ₱1,389,000 for the GLX, ₱1,599,000 for the GLS, and ₱1,929,000 for the GT. Introductory prices reduce these figures by ₱100,000 to ₱130,000 depending on the variant, applicable to customers who reserve and release their units from November 10, 2025 to January 31, 2026. These early units come with Destinator Adventure Gear merchandise. Customers who place reservations during the four-day launch and test drive event from November 20 to 23, 2025 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay and complete their purchase by January 31, 2026 receive an additional ₱5,000 discount. The model is offered in six colors, with two two-tone finishes reserved for the GT.
