ILOILO CITY — The Department of Education-6 said the spate of bomb threats in Iloilo province are affecting the physical and mental-well being of students.
“We condemn this act that is affecting the learners,” the DepEd-Western Visayas said in a statement on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
The impact is far beyond cancellation of face-to-face classes since the series of bomb threats began on Nov. 12 and occurred every single day since the beginning of the week.
A elementary student in one of the schools told Manila Bulletin that classmates were crying when they were being evacuated.
DepEd-6 assured interventions such as psychological first aid to affected students.
“This is to ensure their mental health and well-being are taken care of during these times.”
More than 30 bomb threats have been made in this city and province of Iloilo.
Police have no concrete leads on these as of posting time.
