38th Aliw Awards set at Manila Hotel on Dec. 15

Preparations are in full swing for the 38th Aliw Awards on Dec. 15, 2025, at the Manila Hotel Fiesta Pavilion, as the Aliw Awards Foundation gears up for the celebration of its golden anniversary next year.

It will be recalled that the AAFI was established in November 1976, and the first awards night was held a year later.

This year, the production will be directed once again by multi awarded Frannie Zamora, a product of the first Aliw workshop.

The deadline for nominations has been extended to Nov. 30, 2025, to accommodate more nominations.

Finalists for the more than 50 award categories will be announced a week before the event.

The top award is the Entertainer of the Year award, which the late Miss Pilita Corrales first won.

To be elevated to the Aliw Hall of Fame this year are: Rex Navarrete, Kathy Mas, Sounds of Manila, Sherwin Sozon, Carla Guevarra, and Lorna Cifra.

Early benefactors of Aliw 2025 include PAGCOR, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, and Victoria School Foundation, with more expected soon.

Guests are asked to come early, since dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 pm.
