Eleven persons operating an illegal gambling called "Drop Ball" were arrested by police in Barangay San Jose, San Miguel, Bulacan, on Tuesday night, Nov. 18.

The operation was conducted by the combined forces of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), the 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the San Miguel municipal police station.
According to the police report, the arrested individuals were identified as alias "Mark," "Justine," "Marivic," "Anthony," "Aljon," "Kevin," "Michael," "Marvin," "Salvador," "Adrian," and "Miguel," all employees, stay-in workers, and residents of San Jose.
The suspects were caught in the act of operating Drop Ball game inside a carnival.
Recovered from the suspects were P4,500 bet money and various gambling paraphernalia.
The Bulacan police said they launched the operation in response to numerous complaints from the mothers in the area, who claimed that children and husbands were getting hooked on illegal gambling.
The concerned mothers said that a significant amount of money, which was supposed to be saved for the upcoming Christmas, had been lost to gambling.
The suspects were brought to the PIU Bulacan PPO. They will be charged with illegal gambling at the Office of the Prosecutor in the City of Malolos.
Col. Angel Garcillano said they will not allow their province to become an illegal gambling hub.
"The Bulacan PPO will continue to enforce the law to maintain peace and order for the citizens," he said.
