Domagoso underscored the importance of coordination between the local government, the Quiapo Church administration, and the public to ensure the success of the event as well as the safety of everyone who will be participating in the annual celebration.
"Kami po, ang inyong pamahalaang lungsod, kung ano ang aming maitutulong sa maliit naming kaparaanan bilang lokal na pamahalaan ay siya ulit naming ibibigay sa pagdiriwang ng Kapistahan ng Nazareno 2026 (We, your city government, will once again give what we can in our small way as a local government in celebration of the Kapistahan ng Nazareno 2026)," Domagoso said.
He also announced that ambulant vendors around Quiapo Church will not be allowed from Jan. 7 to 9. He added that vending around the church’s perimeter is “non-negotiable."
However, vendors could still set up at Plaza Lawton and on Kalaw Street and Taft Avenue, the mayor said.
Domagoso also allowed media outlets to access the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Command Center for their live feeds, aerial views, and other coverage materials that may be used to deliver timely updates regarding the feast, particularly the Traslacion.
"I'm going to direct Director Arnel Angeles for you to access our command center in MDRRMO Manila City Hall so you will have live feeds, aerial view and aerial pictures of the event. Pwede kayo tumusok sa amin (You can connect to our resources)," he noted.
