Choco Mucho snapped a four-game losing skid with a 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-21 victory oer Akari to end its campaign on a high note in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Ynares Center in Montalban on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Despite being out of contention for a quarterfinal berth, the Flying Titans still delivered everything they could to finish the conference with a 3-5 win-loss record.
Royse Tubino spearheaded Choco Mucho’s charge with 20 points built on 18 kills and two aces, while import Anyse Smith chipped in 18 points including 16 attacks.
Choco Mucho’s triumph overshadowed the efforts of Annie Mitchem for Akari, where the American reinforcement erupted for 30 points highlighted by 28 kills.
With the loss, the Chargers slipped to 4-4 with the possibility of settling for a low as the eighth seed depending on the outcome of the remaining matches.
Eli Soyud scored 17 points for Akari, but her efforts went down the drain.
