The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will reblock a section of Maharlika Highway in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya on Nov. 20 after the project was granted an exemption from the nationwide suspension on reblocking works.
DPWH Regional Office II said the activity will cover the left lane from K0211+217 to K0211+262 in Barangay Tactac, leaving only one lane passable to motorists starting 8 a.m.
The agency assured travelers that warning and informational signs will be installed throughout the site.
Traffic personnel will also be deployed to monitor conditions and assist motorists to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The works will be implemented under Contract ID 25B00076 as part of the “OO1: Ensure Safe and Reliable National Road System: Asset Preservation Program – Preventive Maintenance – Primary Roads Maharlika Highway – K0211+217 to K0211+262.”
The program aims to preserve the structural integrity of this vital national route and ensure safe travel for the public.
DPWH clarified that rehabilitation projects along the N1/Daang Maharlika Highway are not affected by the Oct. 7 memorandum issued by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, which temporarily suspended all reblocking contracts nationwide pending review.
A follow-up memorandum dated Oct. 20, signed by Dizon, emphasized that rehabilitation works along the corridor “will commence accordingly to ensure unhampered delivery of public service.”
