Presented by Megan Stella Music, Orocan, Profiles Asia Magazine, Volvo Cars, Ms. Marianne Tan, and Xavier ’73 Forever, among others, the tournament is held in support of the Sister Baptista Battig Music Foundation, Inc.
This year’s event brings together foundation patrons and golf enthusiasts for a day of spirited competition, music, and camaraderie. The occasion also serves as a fundraising drive to support the foundation’s 32 music scholars, the Battig Chamber Orchestra, and the impactful Streets to Strings program, which offers free violin lessons to underprivileged children.
Now on its third edition, the Battig Golf Cup has grown into more than just another charity tournament. It’s a heartfelt platform that blends athletic passion with social responsibility. Funds raised from the event will bolster the foundation’s mission of offering music education to deserving but financially challenged youth.
The foundation is named after Sister Baptista Battig, a Benedictine nun and lifelong music educator from St. Scholastica’s College Manila. Her legacy continues through programs that uplift young talents who may not otherwise have the means to pursue their musical aspirations.
The tournament kicks off with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start and features a player-friendly format that caters to both novices and veteran golfers, emphasizing inclusivity and participation.
Since its debut at the Canlubang Golf & Country Club, the Battig Golf Cup has grown steadily in size and reputation.
