Filipino-Swiss joint venture Triconti Windkraft Group Inc. is set to deliver up to 150 megawatts (MW) of new renewable energy capacity in the next three years after securing two wind project awards in the fourth round of the Green Energy Auction (GEA-4).
In a statement, Triconti said the company will develop the projects in Atimonan, Quezon Province, and Anda, Bohol, with commercial operations expected to begin as early as 2027 or 2028. The facilities are projected to generate between 120 MW and 150 MW.
Triconti estimated the wind farms will energize roughly 153,000 to 192,000 households annually, reducing the nation’s reliance on imported fuels and accelerating the shift toward renewable energy sources.
Lila M. Rosenberger, Triconti president and chief executive officer, stated that the firm aims to expand its role beyond energy supply.
“We want to create lasting benefits for our host communities—generating jobs, supporting local businesses, and investing in programs that help improve quality of life. Our vision is to make clean energy a driver of inclusive growth,” Rosenberger said.
The Filipino-Swiss firm maintains a four-gigawatt (GW) project pipeline focused on onshore and offshore wind (OSW) developments. It has previously acquired OSW service development contracts from the Department of Energy (DOE), which has awarded 92 contracts to multiple companies.
The DOE completed the auction earlier this month for ground-mounted, roof, and floating solar technologies, as well as onshore wind and integrated renewable energy and energy storage systems (IRESS).
The agency revealed an additional 123 bidders, representing about 10,195 MW of capacity, participated in the final auction round. The majority of winners were awarded to ground-mounted solar projects, followed by onshore wind developments.
Most of these facilities are slated for construction in Laguna, Pampanga, Quezon, Sorsogon, and the Visayas provinces.
OSW developers, including Triconti, are now awaiting developments for the GEA-5 round. GEA-5 will exclusively auction off offshore wind technologies, with a potential capacity target of 3,300 MW. The DOE has yet to announce the new bidding schedule, though it previously indicated the auction would commence sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
