DILG vows probe into calls for PBBM's resignation, AFP's withdrawal of support

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic’’ Remulla vowed on Monday, Nov. 17, to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged calls of some Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rallyists for President Marcos to resign and for the military to withdraw support from the administration.
When pressed for comments, Remulla insisted that such statements are “close to inciting sedition,” stressing that the calls “have no place in a civil society.”
“We will pursue truth, accountability, and justice, and follow due process against anyone who needs to be held responsible,” Remulla assured.
He assured that the DILG will be up on its toes in monitoring the course of actions in the INC anti-corruption demonstration.
However, Remulla affirmed the government’s stand to lawfully respect the people’s rights to assembly, but warned the participants to stay within the legal limits in their expressions.
The DILG chief maintained that security protocols will remain lawfully similar during the issuance of permits for the second day of the protest action.
