A COP was killed when a patrol car crashed in Laguna on Monday.
PAGSANJAN, Laguna – A police officer was killed and his colleagues and an inmate were injured after the police patrol car transporting them crashed into the iconic welcome stone arch in Barangay Sampaloc, this town, on Monday, Nov. 16.
The victim was identified as Police Staff Sgt. Aldwin Jamilla, married, of the Pagsanjan Municipal Police Station.
Investigation said the patrol car driven by Jamilla was returning to the police station when a motorcycle occupied their lane.
Jamilla swerved to the left to avoid a collision and rammed the arch. He died while undergoing treatment at Uson General Hospital here.
Injured were Police Patrolman Jann Erwin Velarde, Patrolman Rustom Pacilona, and inmate Ivan Garcia. They were taken to a hospital in Santa Cruz, Laguna.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
