The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to continue affecting large parts of the country, bringing rains and thunderstorms to Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, November 15.
In its latest weather forecast, PAGASA reported that the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, the Bicol Region, and Quezon.
Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant as the weather bureau warns of possible flash floods and landslides, especially during moderate to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said the northeast monsoon (amihan) will continue to affect the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Cagayan Valley, and Aurora, resulting in cloudy skies with light rains.
PAGASA noted that no significant impact is expected in these areas.
The Ilocos Region will also experience the effects of the amihan, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated light rains, likewise with no significant impact.
For Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA cautioned that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The public is advised to monitor local weather updates, take precautionary measures against flooding or landslides, and stay alert for advisories from disaster and local government offices.
