TACLOBAN CITY – Over 2.4 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P16.3 million were seized in a buy-bust operation Friday on the bypass road in Barangay Guindapunan, Palo, Leyte.
Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) Director Police Col. Dionisio Apas Jr. said they arrested two high-value individuals during the operation – Ana and Buding.
The suspects, who were caught after they sold shabu to a poseur-buyer, were taken to the Palo police station while the seized drug evidence will undergo laboratory examination at the Regional Forensic Unit 8.
Complaints for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article 2, of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.
Apas said the operation reinforces their firm commitment to protect communities from the scourge of illegal drugs.
“LPPO continues to pursue drug personalities and dismantle their networks through the strong coordination and dedication of our partner agencies,” he said.
