The Caloocan City government has earned multiple national recognitions from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Health (DOH) for its strengthened governance in health and social welfare programs.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, Caloocan ranked Top 1 LGU in i-Registro updating, citing the city’s accurate and timely monitoring of pregnant women and children aged 0 to 24 months.
The city also received the award for Best Local Government Unit in Lifestyle-Related Diseases Prevention and Control Program Practices, recognizing its initiatives to curb hypertension, diabetes, and other non-communicable diseases through improved screening, early intervention, and community health education.
The DOH likewise commended Caloocan for its commitment to regional public health programs, continued efforts to strengthen local health sector reforms, and its effective documentation of good practices that may serve as models for other LGUs.
The local government said the recognitions highlight Caloocan’s ongoing efforts to enhance data-driven governance, improve health systems, and expand public access to essential services across all communities.
