LILIW, Laguna – A man was gunned down by his drunken cousin in Barangay Mojon, this town, Thursday evening, Nov. 13.
Police identified the victim as Paulo.
Paulo was watching television in his house when the suspect Amor barged inside and confronted the victim.
An argument erupted and Elsa, their cousin, tried to diffuse the situation, but Amor drew a caliber .45 pistol and shot the victim several times.
Paulo died on the spot and the suspect fled onboard a car.
Pursuing police spotted the suspect and asked him to surrender, but Amor opened a window and pointed a gun at lawmen.
Police fired and wounded the suspect who drove to Nagcarlan, Laguna where he was arrested.
Amor was taken to a hospital in Nagcarlan.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and faces appropriate charges.
Meanwhile, a 51-year-old barangay chairman was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding gunmen Thursday morning in Barangay Antipolo, Santa Teresita, Batangas province.
Police said the victim Wilberto, 51, married, chairman of Barangay Poblacion 1, Santa Teresita,
was sitting beside a buko juice vendor when the suspects appeared and shot him.The suspects fled toward the direction of Bauan, Batangas. The victim was taken to a hospital in Taal, Batangas.
Police are conducting manhunt and follow-up investigation.
