JC Cares Foundation undertakes relief operations for 'Uwan' victims in Navotas
By MBrand
In response to the devastation wrought by Super Typhoon Uwan, the JC Cares Foundation mobilized a large-scale relief operation aimed at supporting impacted families in Navotas with distribution of relief goods on Nov. 10 and 11, 2025 at the Navotas Convention Center. The relief operation benefited about 3,000 families in the city.
The initiative was led by the foundation’s founders Jonathan So and Carlito Macadangdang, who rallied support from the private sector and dedicated employees of their organization. Under their vision, JC Cares has always emphasized rapid response and generous-giving as pillars of its mission.
The volunteers gathered at the JC Office on 35 Shaw Boulevard to unpack, sort, and package relief goods. The items included basic necessities such as rice, canned goods, noodles, milk, coffee and JC Products.
With this latest initiative in Navotas, the foundation seeks to bring urgent help into a community where the impacts of Super Typhoon Uwan are still unfolding.
The 60 volunteers played roles not only in packing, but also in distribution, crowd management, and helping record the hand-over of goods. Their involvement emphasized the foundation’s philosophy of “people helping people”.
Natural disasters like Super Typhoon Uwan disproportionately affect low-income and densely populated urban communities, such as those in Navotas.
Relief operations like this help bridge the gap between immediate emergency response and longer-term recovery efforts, and JC Cares Foundation’s initiative demonstrates responsiveness and grounded engagement with affected communities.
