Dahil sa tingin: 2 minors hurt in Manila youth violence
Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, were injured after being assaulted by a group of fellow teenagers along Instruccion Street in Barangay 520, Sampaloc, Manila, on Thursday night, Nov. 13.
According to barangay officials, the victims were walking with two of their friends when they spotted two other teenage boys staring at them arrogantly.
Unbeknownst to the victims, the two boys were accompanied by two others riding a bicycle and an e-bike who subsequently attacked them with glass bottles.
One of the victims was hit on the right shoulder, while the other sustained injuries from glass shards.
The attack was quickly halted by responding barangay officials, who immediately brought the victims to the hospital for medical treatment.
Further investigation revealed there were seven teenagers belonging to the attacking group, who were also apprehended by the police earlier that evening for allegedly making a pillbox.
The police also recovered a knife from one of the teenagers.
A settlement was reached between the parents of the involved youths.
