According to the Daily Mail, Ariana was walking beside co-star Cynthia Erivo when a man ran towards them.
The video showed Ariana struggling as the man lunged at her and put his arm around her, the report said.
Then Cynthia bravely jumped in front of Ariana to protect her from the overzealous fan. Fans praised Cynthia for defending Ariana during the ambush.
Moments later, a group of security men pulled the man away. The Daily Mail said the man wore a white T-shirt and shorts. He had distinctive long, black hair with blue streaks.

The Daily Mail identified the man as Johnson Wen, also known as Pyjama Man online. He was allegedly notorious for crashing concerts and events. Among the videos that Johnson shared are those featuring celebrities Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers.
Furious fans of Ariana criticized Johnson for his behavior. In June, Johnson was charged with accosting Katy during her concert. Previously, Johnson had repeatedly promised not to invade concerts and red-carpet events.
Singapore is the only Asian stop on the international promotional tour for "Wicked: For Good," which concludes in New York on November 17.
