ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 has condemned bomb threats in three universities here and the province of Iloilo.
“The safety of our students and school personnel is our top priority. We strongly condemn any act meant to sow fear and disrupt the peace in our communities,” said PRO-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan in a statement.
Two bomb threats rocked two State universities on Thursday, Nov.13, the main campus of the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) in Iloilo City and a satellite campus of West Visayas State University (WVSU) in Janiuay town, Iloilo.
The day before, Wednesday, Nov. 12, the extension campus of the University of San Agustin (USA) in Iloilo City received a bomb threat.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), with the Explosives and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and K-9 units, cleared ISAT-U and USA.
The Janiuay Municipal Police Station cleared WVSU campus.
Police are investigating these bomb threats.
False bomb threats are unlawful and people can be arrested for the offense, police warned.
