More than 300 personnel from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office were affected by typhoon “Tino” and super typhoon “Uwan" that recently hit the province.
According to Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, Negros Occidental police spokesperson, many of the affected officers had total or partial damage to their homes.
He noted that data consolidation is still ongoing and the number of affected personnel may still rise as assessments continue.
Catalogo said that officers were instructed to send photos of their damaged homes to aid in the evaluation process.
The provincial police office is preparing to request financial assistance from the national headquarters to help those impacted.
“Though the amount may not be that big, it can still help them rebuild their homes,” Catalogo said.
In addition to the police officers, several non-uniformed personnel (NUPs) were also displaced by the typhoons.
Catalogo assured that all personnel deployed for disaster response have been accounted for.
