AID for 'Tino' evacuees in Southern Leyte.
TACLOBAN CITY — Southern Leyte Rep. Christopherson Yap has extended assistance to the municipality of Saint Bernard and other areas battered by typhoon “Tino” in the province.
Yap distributed 250 sleeping kits, 250 family kits, and 500 bottles of distilled drinking water to families at the Operation Ground, Himatagon.
Yap visited the municipalities of Anahawan, San Francisco, Pintuyan, Liloan, Sogod, Hinunangan, and Silago to personally assess the damage.
He said that he is in close coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development 8 and Office of the Civil Defense 8 to identify the needs of evacuees.
“Tino” made its first landfall on Nov. 3 in Silago where 1,182 families evacuated.
Some parts of Southern Leyte still do not have electricity, stable cellphone signal, and access to drinking water.
