SEPH secures 120-MWp supply from Greenlight Leyte solar
Retail electricity supplier (RES)Shell Energy Philippines, Inc. (SEPH) secured a 120-megawatt-peak (MWp) supply deal with Greenlight Renewables Holdings, Inc. to boost its renewable energy (RE) source for commercial and industrial customers.
In a statement on Wednesday, Nov. 12, SEPH said it has finalized a 15-year power supply agreement (PSA) with Greenlight to source power from the San Isidro solar project in Leyte.
The facility is managed by Greenlight’s wholly-owned subsidiary, San Isidro Solar Power Corp.
The partnership aligns with the establishment of Greenlight—a joint venture between Nickel Asia Corp.’s Emerging Power Inc. (EPI) and Shell Overseas Investments B.V. (SOIBV).
The supply will be generated from phase one of the solar project, with commercial operation slated to commence in the second quarter of 2026. The project is currently undergoing testing and commissioning.
SEPH President Bernd Krukenberg said the 15-year collaboration would allow the company to integrate a more cost-effective RE supply.
“Our strong partnership with Greenlight, along with our decision to fully offtake from this project, reflects Shell's commitment to providing cleaner and more affordable energy solutions to the country and supports our growth aspirations in the power industry for years to come,” he said.
Greenlight President and Chief Executive Officer Jasmin Agbon said: “We are proud to see the San Isidro Solar Power Project move from vision to reality through this collaboration with SEPH and other partners.”
She added that their teams are “working tirelessly to deliver this project, which will contribute to energy security and support the Philippines’ clean energy and sustainability goals.”
The first phase of the solar project will provide 72 MWp to Emerging Power’s installed capacity. Development of the second phase, expected to generate an additional 120 MWp, began earlier this year.
