Quezon City gov't holds Christmas tree lighting ceremony
The Quezon City government held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the City Hall grounds.
Mayor Joy Belmonte and Vice Mayor Gian Sotto were present during the event, along with members of the Quezon City Council and department heads of the local government.
“Ang gusto namin ngayon ay ipagdiwang ang Paskong Pinoy. Kung makikita niyo, 'yung tema natin ngayon ay puro Filipino-themed,” Mayor Belmonte said.
The City Hall grounds were filled with lights, colors, and festive decorations with the theme “Paskong KumuQCkutitap” as residents and employees gathered to mark the beginning of the Yuletide season.
A Christmas bazaar officially opened during the event, as well as the Christmas display.
The bazaar will be open daily until Christmas from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony also signaled the start of a series of holiday events and programs organized by the Quezon City government to spread cheer and strengthen camaraderie among its residents.
