Q&A: Miss Earth 2025 winners on memorable moments, plans, and advice

Published Nov 12, 2025 03:06 pm
After a rigorous and intense competition last Nov. 5, Miss Earth 2025 Natálie Puškinová of the Czech Republic, together with her court Miss Earth Air 2025 Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir of Iceland, Miss Earth Water 2025 Mỹ Anh Trịnh of Vietnam, and Miss Earth Fire 2025 Waree Ngamkham of Thailand, took a little break and visited the Manila Bulletin office on Nov. 10.
Greeted by Manila Bulletin employees, the queens took the time to take photos and explore the office. They also graced some fun and insightful interviews about their experience and plans.
MBE: If you could give any advice to young children about caring for their environment, what would it be and why?
Miss Earth 2025 Natálie Puškinová: "Okay, I would say that we are all living on one planet, even though each of us is living in a different country. However, we are still sharing the same environment, and we are facing different issues. Still, I think the main key is to unite, to really talk about it, not to be ignorant, but really talk about it, because for me, especially here in Manila, it's my first time facing a typhoon. I'm shocked by the weather, and I was so scared, and I'm feeling so sorry for those people who lost their lives here in the typhoon. So I think the best key is to educate others and to care, and just be grateful for where you're living, and just not to be ignorant."
Miss Earth Air 2025 Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir: "I would want to say we all think as one person, but I want to advise people to take up space and let their voice be heard because we might think that we don't make enough difference by one person. But as we are all individuals, we can make a big difference, so take up space, be yourself, and talk about what you think about."
Miss Earth Water 2025 Mỹ Anh Trịnh:  "I come from Vietnam. I experienced a typhoon and a lot of flooding as well. So I can say that those actions to protect the environment, you don't have to make it big; you can do it small from the very first step. And we are all sisters and brothers around the world, we are not coming from one country, but we can unite, we can share the way to save the environment with different countries. Sharing is the most important because, after all, that's all we do: we're helping another country to get them better. "

Miss Earth Fire 2025 Waree Ngamkham: "Okay, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen a typhoon. I live in Thailand, where we often experience earthquakes, floods, and typhoons. The weather here is quite similar, so I can relate to what’s happening. Everyone here is really shocked — especially Natalie, since she’s from Europe, where this kind of thing doesn’t usually happen.
"If we all work together to protect the Earth, we can help prevent disasters like typhoons, floods, and earthquakes. We should also teach the younger generation to take care of our planet, so we can work together to save it."
MBE: Now that the competition is over, are there any places that you want to visit or go back to in the Philippines?
Miss Earth 2025 Natálie Puškinová: "I think we're all sharing the same answer because everybody here is talking about Boracay, so we all want to visit Boracay, and also I would love to visit Palawan because all over the internet. Palawan mentioned way more than Boracay, so I would love to go to Palawan as well and go scuba diving there."
Miss Earth Air 2025 Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir: "I'm going to Boracay, actually, on the 12th. So, I'm really excited to experience it."
MBE: Aside from being the winners, what else will you never forget during the competition?
Miss Earth Air 2025 Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir: "The friendship, definitely, we have made. I think we all made such good friends throughout the day."
Miss Earth 2025 Natálie Puškinová: "The strong bond, I would say, as well, because everybody warned me before the pageant that the girls are crazy. Everybody wants the crown, but to be honest, it was just amazing, and I found and hope to have real-life friends, and we will visit each other. I'm very grateful for this, and also, if you put your mind to anything, you can make it because dreams do come true."
Miss Earth Fire 2025 Waree Ngamkham: "I learned so much from Natalie, from Joy, from everyone in here, from every candidate they treat me, it's the first time to go to the Philippines and out to my country. It's very exciting, and everyone is helping me a lot aside from the competition."
MBE: After competing in Miss Earth, what are your plans?
Miss Earth 2025 Natálie Puškinová: "After this, I will go back to my home country. We will have a homecoming press conference, and then it’s going to be like a media month — not just a media week, but a whole month — because all the Czech news outlets are going to be covering it. I was shocked! My friend sent me a picture of an old man reading a newspaper on a train, and I was on the front page. My friend was like, “Do you see this?”
"So, I’ll have a lot of talk shows, radio shows, and TV appearances — it’s going to be a media boom. However, after that, I would love to return to the Philippines and participate in more environmental activities. I loved the cleanup we did with the Navy — it was a lot of fun!
"Even though we were just picking up trash, it felt great to see the difference — as you collect more, the place just becomes cleaner and cleaner, and you realize you can make an impact.
"It was also really fun because it was mostly us girls doing the cleanup! So I’d love to join more of those events here, and hopefully I’ll get the chance to come back more often."
Miss Earth Air 2025 Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir: "I really want to keep doing environmental activities here in the Philippines. I’ve already joined a beach cleanup and planted trees. My advocacy focuses on reforestation, so I’d love to collaborate more with forest communities and continue bringing people together to plant trees.
"Also, back in Iceland, we once had 30 percent of our country covered by forests, but now we only have about 1 percent. We’re slowly getting back to 2 percent, so now that I have a bigger platform, I really want to use it to bring people together, host events, plant more trees, and inspire others to take action for the environment."
Miss Earth Water 2025 Mỹ Anh Trịnh: "I actually have a lot of plans. When I return to Vietnam, I’ll be going back to my beloved hometown, Hanoi. I plan to go there to help people recover from the recent floods and to reconnect with the community by working with local organizations on our projects.
"My main advocacy is about addressing e-waste, or electronic waste, but I’m also passionate about several other causes. I plan to focus more on reducing and reusing old items, such as shoes and clothing, to promote sustainable living. And of course, planting trees is also a very important part of my environmental efforts."
Miss Earth Fire 2025 Waree Ngamkham: "When I go back to Thailand, I’ll have my homecoming, and it’s going to be a long one! I’m looking forward to having dinner with my family and our international director. Coming from Thailand, I’ve learned to live with hope and love. Everyone there always reminds me not to worry — they tell me just to let things go when I feel stressed. I hope everyone in Thailand is as excited as I am for my return!"
