Music, education, and literature lead the Embassy of Spain's cultural lineup this November
Music, education, and literature take center stage this November as the Embassy of Spain, through its Cultural and Education Offices and the Instituto Cervantes, unveils a vibrant calendar of cultural events.
Renowned Spanish baritone Luis Llaneza will inspire aspiring vocalists through master classes at the University of Santo Tomás on November 14 and at the Philippine Women’s University on November 19. He will also captivate audiences with a special performance at UST on November 22.
No cultural celebration is complete without film. Spain proudly showcases its cinematic heritage while supporting Philippine cinema through its participation in QCinema, a ten-day international film festival kicking off on November 14.
With nearly 30 percent of the Philippine population comprising youth, the Embassy encourages young Filipinos to explore academic opportunities in Spain at the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF). The two-day event, held at Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Manila, starting November 21, will feature 13 leading Spanish universities, each presenting their programs and offerings.
Spain brings marine biologist Isabel Nuñez to three educational institutions—Saint Pedro Poveda College, University of the Philippines, and Everest Academy Manila—to speak on the preservation of vital reef ecosystems and their services.
On November 28, architects Juan Ramón Jiménez and Jesús Pulido will deliver a lecture at the National University titled Architecture and Urban Planning during the Spanish Period. Their talk will spotlight their research and work on historic areas such as Intramuros, Parián, San Nicolás, Cavite, Cebu, and Davao.
Promoting the value of a sound mind in a sound body, the Spanish women’s futsal team will visit Manila to engage with students and promote sportsmanship. They will compete in the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup 2025 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on November 22, 25, and 28, facing teams from Thailand, Colombia, and Canada.
Art lovers can still enjoy three ongoing exhibitions: Four Centuries of Spanish Engineering Overseas at the Centro de Turismo, Intramuros (permanent exhibit); A Synergy of Ventures: The Post-War Art Scene, commemorating Fernando Zóbel’s centennial, at the Ateneo Art Gallery (until February 2026), and Mezcla: Interwoven Cultures and the Mantón de Manila at the Ayala Museum.
