"Congressmeow" Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco 'Kiko" Barzaga remained defiant amid his sedition charge and subpoena.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 12, Barzaga uploaded a copy of his subpoena, which listed Police Captain Aaron Blanco of the Criminal and Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) as complainant.
The eccentric solon tagged President Marcos and wrote, "Bongbong Marcos How many people have your father killed or imprisoned before he was removed from power?"
"This will not stop us, this will only make the revolution stronger!" added the 27-year-old Barzaga, who chose not to directly address his charges.
In a subsequent post that same evening, the Dasmariñas City lawmaker wrote: "I always wanted to be a martyr, to die for a noble cause. I may not be able to witness our country's future where President Marcos is imprisoned, but I'm glad to have contributed towards his downfall!"
The charges listed on the subpoena were "violation of Article 142 (Inciting to Sedition) and Article 138 (Inciting to Rebellion), both of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to Section of Republic Act No. 10175".
Barzaga had previously supported Marcos during when the latter ran for president in 2022.
But the gen Z solon and master rage-baiter has found meaning in his life in the House of Representatives as a self-styled white knight against corruption, mostly at the expense of Marcos.
