Leadership change at Italpinas: Garofalo takes over helm from Nati
Niche real estate firm Italpinas Development Corp.’s (IDC) board of directors has appointed Engr. Giuseppe Garofalo as the company’s new chief executive officer (CEO), taking over the helm from IDC’s co-founder Architect Romolo V. Nati.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), the firm said the Italian engineer has been a key member of IDC’s leadership team, serving as chief operating officer (COO) for several years.
His technical background as an engineer and his extensive experience in construction and operations management have been central to IDC’s record of delivering high-quality, environmentally responsive developments.
IDC said Garofalo’s appointment reflects the company’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and continuity in leadership.
Outgoing CEO Nati, the visionary behind its award-winning architectural and environmental design philosophy, will remain as chairman of the board and assume the title of chief of design officer.
In this capacity, he will focus on guiding the company’s long-term strategy, business development, and architectural vision.
“As we enter this new phase where we need execution capability more than ever, I’m proud to pass the operational leadership to Giuseppe, whose deep expertise, proven implementation capabilities, and dedication have helped shape IDC’s success,” said Nati.
He added that, “In my new role, I will continue to guide our design philosophy and long-term strategy, ensuring that our developments remain thoughtful, resilient, and responsive to the evolving needs of our communities.”
IDC President and Co-Founder Atty. Jojo Leviste said, “Giuseppe’s appointment marks a natural and well-deserved progression. His deep operational knowledge, strong leadership, established community relationships, and engineering expertise make him the ideal person to lead IDC into its next phase of growth.”
Garofalo expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him by the board of directors and reaffirmed his commitment to IDC’s mission.
“I am honored to take on this responsibility. IDC’s success is built on a unique blend of sustainability, innovation, and teamwork. I look forward to leading our talented team as we continue to grow responsibly, create value for our shareholders, for the environment and for the communities and deliver thoughtfully designed certified green developments to our clients,” he said.
IDC said this leadership transition and financial performance underscore its strong organizational foundation and its continued expansion across high-growth cities in the Philippines.
The company said it remains focused on its long-term vision of promoting sustainable development, architectural excellence, and community resilience across different markets in the country.
