Five major dams in Luzon continue to release water following heavy rains brought by Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong), based on the monitoring of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
In Bulacan, the water level at Angat Dam in Norzagaray was at 210.9 meters, slightly above its normal high of 210 meters, prompting the opening of three gates.
Downstream, Ipo Dam, also in Norzagaray, had a water level of 100.62 meters against its normal high of 101.1 meters, with three gates open.
PAGASA continues to issue hydrological situationers for communities along the Angat River, including Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel, Calumpit, Hagonoy, and Paombong, advising residents to take precautionary measures as flooding may occur.
In Isabela, Magat Dam in Ramon maintained an elevation of 190.92 meters, below its normal high of 193 meters, with five gates open.
Areas that could be affected by possible flooding include Alfonso Lista in Ifugao, and the towns of Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Burgos, Naguilian, and Gamu in Isabela.
In Benguet, Ambuklao Dam in Bokod had a water level of 751.95 meters, close to its normal high of 752 meters, with six gates open. Binga Dam in Itogon recorded 572.95 meters against its normal high of 575 meters, also with six gates open.
Ambuklao and Binga are part of the cascading dam system that includes San Roque Dam in San Manuel, Pangasinan. As of 8 a.m., San Roque Dam was not releasing water, with its level at 278.25 meters, still below its normal high of 280 meters.
PAGASA continues to advise downstream communities of Ambuklao and Binga, including parts of Bokod (Barangay Ambuclao) and Itogon (Barangays Dalupirip and Tinongdan), to remain alert as water releases from the dams may raise flood risks along the Agno River.
