Building on the success of its popular teen drama, "MAKA," GMA Network has launched the highly anticipated spinoff of "MAKA LOVESTREAM." This youth-oriented program will feature the original cast in fresh roles, exploring diverse stories of love, dreams, friendship, and family.

"MAKA LOVESTREAM" showcases a different love story each month, captivating audiences with new worlds.
The first installment, 28 Days, stars singer-actress Zephanie as Faith — a cheerful K-culture fan determined to manifest her dreams through a 28-day ritual. As the family breadwinner caring for her ailing father, Faith has no time for romance until she crosses paths with Shan Vesagas as Joaquin, a brooding Manila boy with anger issues and a haunting viral past. Drawn to her warmth, Joaquin finds a calm he didn’t expect. But is he destined to derail Faith’s manifestations — or become the love she never asked for?
Zephanie shared a glimpse of her character in the series. “One thing that I find very similar to the characters na I’ve done before is laging hopeful talaga siya. Pero this time, I think, mas hina-hide ko ‘yung pain. Compared to Zeph Molina, ito ‘yung ‘di ko puwede ipakita, kailangan strong ako."
Meanwhile, Shan highlighted the collaborative environment on the set, crediting director Frasco Mortiz with helping the cast bring their characters to life.
“Si Direk Frasco po, lagi kaming kinakausap. [He guides us] with the lines. Binibigyan niya po kami ng freedom to change the lines to fit our personalities better,” he said.
Adding to the star-studded cast are 90s youth-oriented show icons Angelu de Leon and Bobby Andrews, who reunite on-screen as Faith’s parents.
The MAKA barkada remains complete with Josh Ford, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, Anton Vinzon, Chanty, Sean Lucas, John Clifford, Olive May, Bryce Eusebio, Mad Ramos, Bangus Girl, and Elijah Alejo — all taking on exciting new characters.
Catch "MAKA LOVESTREAM" airing every Saturday at 4:45 PM, right after Wish Ko Lang! on GMA and Kapuso Stream.

Get to know some of the cast of "MAKA LOVESTREAM" in Manila Bulletin's Slam Book:
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Zephanie: Flying, kasi I love travelling.
What's the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
Dream destination
Zephanie: It’ll be Jerusalem. I really wanna see and experience first-hand ‘yung mga story sa Bible.
May Ann: Hong Kong talaga, Disneyland. Ang dami ko napapanood sa reels about healing our inner child. ‘Yung may fireworks, palasyo. ‘Yun talaga ang best feeling.
If you could switch voices with any celebrity, who would it be?
Zephanie: Michael Buble.
What's your favorite song?
Zephanie: Ngayon kasi I really listen to worship songs. If not “Dwell,” maybe “What A God” ng SEU Worship. If kilig song, rom-com ni Rob Deniel.
May Ann: “Pangarap Ko, Pangarap Mo” ni Zeph. Nag-install ako ng Spotify para pakinggan ‘yun.
If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
Zephanie: Somehow, gusto ko bumalik noong 90s, pero sa tala ng buhay ko, gusto ko bumalik sa age ko around 7 years old. That’s where everything started that I’m aware na.
Do you have any collections?
Zephanie: I love collecting stuff. I love collecting Hello Kitty [items], stuff toys, books, vinyl records, although konti pa lang. I’m very sentimental.
May Ann Basa
May Ann Basa
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Zephanie: Probably, Ceasar’s salad. It’s my go-to food. It’s convenient and light.
May Ann: Lechon and bangus.
Who is your role model?
Zephanie: I’d say si Jesus. ‘Yung kind of patience, love, kindness. That’s my prayer, to be like Him everyday.
The best advice you have ever received so far?
Zephanie: Marami kasi I feel like I’m surrounded by people who are full of wisdom and mga life experience. But I’d say, “thick skin, soft heart.” The world can be very cruel and sometimes unkind, so we have to have thick skin. We have to be strong, brave, tough, pero soft heart na despite what the world is throwing, challenges and people na na-eencounter na hindi kayo nagkakasundo, you’ll always have a kind heart no matter what.
May Ann: ‘Yung palaging paalaala sa akin, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God” and maging humble lang talaga.
If you are granted three wishes, what would they be?
Zephanie: Gusto ko ng hit song or a movie. Pangalawa would be for God’s love to take over anything sa whole world. Wish ko rin is for people to arise from sadness or whatever they’re going through. And hope and trust will be the foundation for everyone.
Any unforgettable dreams?
Zephanie: One time, we were organizing something. Nasa outdoor ako and then sinabi sa’kin na ikakasal ako. Pinapunta nila ako sa room para mag-ready. Everything’s ready na pero for some reason, meron pa akong inaayos. I was fixing my own bouquet of flowers. And ‘yun ‘yung nagpapa-delay. Hanggang sa nagising ako. Naalala ko siya kasi at that time, I was thinking about marriage, too. And feeling ko hindi pa ako ready kasi I was still fixing my bouquet, and that bouquet represents something – maybe I’m still fixing myself, healing, or trying to prioritize myself.
Motto in life?
Zephanie: Never give up, everything happens at the right time, and in His time.
May Ann: In God’s Perfect Time.
Bryce Eusebio
Bryce Eusebio
The boys of 'MAKA LOVESTREAM'
Superpower for one day
Shan Vesagas: Invisibility para kung may gusto akong puntahan, pwede ko sigurong masilip or mapuntahan without knowing na nandoon ako.
Bryce Eusebio: ‘Yung mako-control ko ‘yung time. And also to learn from the past and future talaga.
Mad Ramos: To create money to give to the poor and to solve ang crisis sa Philippines.
Sean Lucas: For a day, gusto ko maging shape-shifter.
What is love?
Shan: Love for me is built on sacrifices and challenges.
Bryce: Love is one thing humans should do, it’s an essential. It’s a mix of sacrifice, trust, and parang sinasamahan mo mag-grow ang isang tao. Love is an action.
Mad: Love is special kasi ‘di mo lang dapat binibigay ang love kahit kanino, you choose a person na special sa heart mo, na special sa’yo. Bigyan mo siya ng pagmamahal kasi that person has a special place in your heart.
Sean: Love is a decision where you put someone else’s needs above yourself. What they need, want, talagang inuuna mo. And to care for them and provide for them without thinking about how it will affect you.
Who was your first crush?
Mad: First crush ko noong high school ako kasi noong elementary, all boys.
Sean: Si Juliana Marcoso.
If you were a vegetable, what would you be and why?
Shan: Okra.
Mad: Ampalaya kasi bitter. ‘Yun na ‘yun.
Sean: Kalabasa, kasi versatile. Pwedeng kainin on its own, pwedeng pang-dessert, pang-sabaw, pang-ginataan. Lahat pwede mong gawin. At saka masarap.
What would you do if you were invisible for one day?
Mad Ramos
Mad Ramos
The bravest thing you've ever done so far
Just deciding for myself talaga. I’m taking up Bachelor of Arts in Communication, first year.
Mad: Noong nag wo-workshop kami sa acting, ‘yung letting your emotions out. For me kasi hindi ako ‘yung lalaking expressive, I keep my problems and emotions to myself. Hindi ko siya nilalabas. For me that’s the bravest thing I’ve done recently.
Sean: Siguro just decided to join Sparkle and decided to pursue this career, trying to live alone here in Manila on my own. That was a very big decision talaga na I didn’t know how big it was when I was thinking about it. When I decided to do it, I thought na wala lang, ita-try ko lang ito. Tapos ngayon, nandito na. Pero looking back, I realized the magnitude of that decision. I’ve been here in Manila for three years.
Favorite time of the year
Shan: Summer time.
Bryce: Christmas talaga. Ever since bata ako naging very significant sa akin ‘yung day ng Christmas – ‘yung family nandyan, kumpleto, walang trabaho, walang school dati, relax lang lahat, tapos ang ganda ng nostalgia ng songs na everywhere you go, puro Christmas songs na doon mo lang siya maririnig and doon mo lang mafi-feel ‘yung vibe.
Mad: ‘Yung first day ng start ng Ramadan kasi it’s very special sa amin. It only happens once a year and one month ang fasting kaya talagang special siya sa akin.
Sean: It used to be Christmas pero ngayon nagkaroon ako ng bagong appreciation for Halloween. Everybody dresses up and it’s the time of the year na you get to be a kid. You get to dress up what you want, to see people be goofy. Parang kahit anong gawin mo okay lang. Kapag Halloween din, ang daming nag-eenjoy. Nalalabas mo ‘yung personality mo.
Your real-life hero
Shan: My dad because he was the one who raised me ever since I was a kid. I would want to be like him.
Bryce: Hindi kasi ako makapili, so family na lang in general. When I’m in trouble, sila talaga pinupuntahan ko.
That means a lot to me. I love my dad.
Sean: Aside from my parents, my grandma.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?
Bryce: Ako siguro if may papalitan ako, gustong-gusto kong palitan ‘yung confidence ko. Madaming beses sa life ko na hindi ko napapaglaban sarili ko which affects my whole life.
Mad: I don’t want to change anything sa akin kasi I should love my imperfections. Kung wala kasi ‘yung imperfections sa buhay, you won’t change, you won’t improve, you won’t learn. Parang ang mindset ko, ine-embrace ko ang imperfections and I’ll use that as a motivation na gagalingan ko pa.
Sean: Insecure rin ako in a way na wala akong bilib sa sarili rin na minsan masyado kong dina-doubt. And also, medyo extroverted ako, mahilig ako magbiro, pero it takes some time talaga for me to warm up. ‘Yun siguro ang babaguhin ko na sana mas mabilis ako mag-warm up to people para mas welcoming ako, na parang open ‘yung energy na binibigay ko.
Sean Lucas
Sean Lucas
Dream destination
Shan: Australia kasi may family ako roon.
Bryce: Italy kasi sobrang daming history doon.
Mad: Sa Saudi Arabia, ‘yung Makkah. Pinupuntahan kasi ng lahat ng Muslims ‘yan. Lahat ng Muslim pangarap ‘yun. May hinahalikan doon, para lang nag-refresh from the start, lahat ng sins mo mawawala. That’s a dream.
When I see pictures, it looks super nice tapos unique rin ‘yung pagkain nila doon.
The best way to relax
Actually sa’kin, the best way to relax is you decide to relax. Sometimes kasi kapag pumupunta ka sa ibang places tapos hindi mo naman nire-relax talaga kaatawan mo, what’s the point?
Shan Vesagas
Shan Vesagas
Something funny that happened to you recently
Ever since bata ako ‘yun na talaga lagi kong kinakain. Everytime na kinakain ko siya, sumasaya ako.
Mad: French fries and the flavor is chili barbeque.
One food that you will eat for the rest of your life
Bryce: Steak.
Mad: Donuts.
Sean: Fried chicken tsaka kanin, kaya kong kainin araw-araw.
