Pasay LGU conducts clearing, declogging operations following Typhoon Uwan's onslaught

The city government of Pasay launched an intensive clearing and declogging operation following the onslaught of Tropical Storm Uwan, which brought heavy rains and flooding to several parts of the city.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the City Engineering Office to conduct road clearing around the city from scattered branches and debris brought by heavy rains and strong winds of the typhoon.
The team also conducted fixing of electrical cables around the city caused by strong winds.
Flushing of canals was also made to remove garbage blocking the waterways to ensure the smooth flow of water.
The mayor said the cleanup operations are part of the city’s ongoing disaster response to restore normalcy and prevent the spread of waterborne diseases.
She assured the public that the city government will be working around the clock to clear the roads of debris and other materials.
Rubiano also reminded residents to properly dispose of their waste and to cooperate with the ongoing cleanup and rehabilitation efforts of the city government.
