Manila DRRMO inspects flood affected barangays as evacuees return home
The Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) conducted inspections and monitoring operations in several barangays affected by flooding after the waters of Estero de Paco overflowed amid heavy rains and high tide.
According to the Manila DRRMO, a total of 3,375 families were evacuated from low-lying areas, mostly from Districts 1, 2, and 6.
As of 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, only 35 families remain in evacuation centers, mostly sheltered at the Delpan Sports Complex in Tondo, while the rest have already returned to their homes as floodwaters subsided.
The city DRRMO’s field teams conducted inspections to ensure the safety of residents, assess affected areas, and identify households that may still need assistance or continued monitoring.
Authorities continue to closely observe the water levels in Estero de Paco and other critical waterways across Manila to prevent further flooding and ensure a swift response should weather conditions worsen.
The city government reminds the public to remain alert and follow advisories from disaster response agencies.
