The city government of Las Piñas evacuated a total of 2,551 individuals at the height of Tropical Storm Uwan on Monday, Nov. 10.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) monitored 146 flooded areas that affected 17 barangays in the city.
Mayor April Aguilar visited the residents who stayed at the evacuation centers and led the distribution of relief goods from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The team from the City Health Office conducted medical check-ups for evacuees and provided them with the necessary medicines.
At the height of the storm, the city government deployed 14 response teams composed of 94 personnel to immediately respond to the residents' rescue requests.
Aguilar said that at 1:04 p.m., all the evacuation centers readied by the city government were closed after the evacuees opted to return to their respective residences.
