Caloocan LGU provides food, medical assistance to evacuees amid 'Uwan'

The Caloocan City government on Monday, Nov. 10, continuously provided food and medical assistance to residents displaced by typhoon “Uwan.”

According to the public information office, a total of 1,696 families, or 6,527 individuals, have taken shelter in various evacuation centers across the city.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) reported that each family received hot meals, sleeping kits, and hygiene supplies as part of the city’s ongoing relief operations.

Meanwhile, the Caloocan City Health Department (CHD) conducted medical missions in evacuation sites, offering free check-ups, medicines, vitamins, and doxycycline to residents who had waded through floodwaters.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan personally visited the evacuation centers to check on the evacuees and assured them that all affected barangays would continue to receive aid.
“Patuloy po ang ating pagbibigay ng pagkain at tulong medikal para matiyak ang kaligtasan at kalusugan ng mga kababayan nating lumikas (We continue to provide food and medical assistance to ensure the safety and health of our displaced residents),” the mayor said.
The city government also reminded residents, especially those in flood-prone areas, to remain alert and familiarize themselves with the nearest evacuation centers.
