Carla Abellana and Loisa Andalio on ghosts, supernatural beings
Carla Abellana and Loisa Andalio were excited to be part of the iconic horror movie "Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins" under Regal Entertainment Inc., one of the official entries to the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival.

"I love horror films. Minsan nanonood ng horror na patay ang ilaw or ako lang mag-isa sa bahay. (Sometimes I watch horror with the lights off or I'm home alone.) But I love horror films. I find enjoyment watching horror movies," admitted Carla during a media conference for the horror flick held at the Valencia Events Place in Quezon City recently.
(I also won't be scared because I love watching horror films, so I was excited when shooting 'SRR.)"
Both Carla and Loisa play nuns in the "SRR" episode "1775." In the episode, set during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines, a group of nuns seeks to survive the night after an unknown evil is unleashed within their cloister.
Asked if they felt something scary or unusual on the set, Carla said, "Wala naman akong naramdaman sa set pero sa ganda ng set mararamdaman mo talaga yung takot dahil sobrang dilim. Sa episode po namin walang ilaw at kandila lang po kaya nakakatakot. Sa mga historical location kami nagshoot. From costume, makeup to set design, nakakakilabot talaga. (I didn't feel anything on set, but the beauty of the set makes you feel fear because it's so dark. In our episode, there were no lights and only candles, making it a scary experience. We shot in historical locations. From costumes, makeup, to set design, it was terrifying.)"

"Wala rin akong naramdaman na kakaiba sa set dahil masaya naman ang mga tao. Pero kapag madilim na at action na, takutan na kami. (I didn't feel anything special on set because the people were happy. But when it got dark, we were scared)," said Loisa.
Carla and Loisa are both firm believers in the existence of ghosts and supernatural beings, convinced that there's more to the world than meets the eye.
"Naniniwala ako sa ghosts. Sa dami ng napanood ko na paranormal investigations, at overwhelming ang evidence, talagang meron po. Mahilig ako sa horror (films) and paranormal. Yung mga investigation ng spirits, and possessions. (I believe in ghosts. From the many paranormal investigations I've watched, the evidence is overwhelming; they really do exist. I love horror (films) and the supernatural — the investigations of spirits and possessions.)
"Yan ang mga pampatulog at lullaby ko sa gabi. Kaya madalas natatakot ako pero enjoy ako panoorin. Then sa bahay po ng lola ko, nakaamoy, nakaramdam, nakakita and in all senses, naramdaman ko po talaga na meron. (Those are my bedtime songs and lullabies at night. That's why I'm often scared, but I enjoy watching them. Then at my grandmother's house, I could smell, feel, see, and in all senses, I really thought that it was there)," Carla added.

Loisa agreed with Carla. "Sa dami ng ginawa ng Diyos, iniisip ko na hindi lang naman tayo rito sa mundo. Kaya naniniwala ako na may good and evil spirits. (With all that God has done, I think we are not alone in this world. That's why I believe there are good and evil spirits.)"
Both stars are also excited for "SRR" which will be shown beginning Christmas Day.
"Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Dito lang kami sa Pilipinas. We don't go out of the country. Dito lang kami sa Noche Buena," Carla said. "This year ang naka-toka po sa akin ay ham. Potluck po kasi kami. After kumain, magbubukas na kami ng regalo. Ganun lang naman po kami pag Christmas with family and relatives. (We will celebrate Christmas in the Philippines. We don't go out of the country. We're just here for Noche Buena. This year, I will bring ham. We're having a potluck. After eating, we'll open presents. That's just how we do Christmas with family and relatives.)"
Eloisa said that her family will also celebrate the holidays in Manila. "Usually, we celebrate Christmas abroad. I noticed sa Japan hindi nila talaga sine-celebrate ang Christmas. Malamig at tahimik lang sila. More on New Year sila. Sa bahay lang kami this year. Si mama kasi Iglesia Ni Cristo. Hindi talaga nila sine-celebrate ang Pasko. (Usually, we celebrate Christmas abroad. I noticed in Japan, they don't really celebrate Christmas. They're so quiet. They're more on New Year's. We will stay home this year. Mom's a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. They don't really celebrate Christmas.)"
