The Parañaque City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Council was placed on full alert to continuously monitor and coordinate response efforts, anticipating the effects of super typhoon “Uwan”.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez is overseeing the city’s situation and response operations from the Emergency Local Operations (ELO) Command Center, ensuring proactive measures are in place to safeguard residents.
The ELO Command Center functions as Parañaque’s multi-hazard monitoring and inter-agency coordination hub, enabling real-time information sharing and the timely deployment of emergency resources across all affected areas.
The emergency responders are on standby for possible evacuation, rescue, and clearing operations.
The mayor said that the city government had already prepared the evacuation centers, rescue boats for immediate deployment.
While the City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) is conducting clearing and declogging operations to ensure that the city will not be affected by heavy flooding.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow advisories from the local government and PAGASA.
