CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines has augmented the disaster response capabilities of the Northern Luzon Command through the deployment of additional teams and assets from the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Air Force as super typhoon “Uwan” bore down on Luzon Sunday.
The augmentation forms part of the AFP’s proactive measures to ensure rapid, coordinated, and effective humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations in areas that are expected to be heavily affected by the super typhoon.
According to Lt. Gen. Aristotle D. Gonzalez, commander of Nolcom, the augmentation underscores the AFP’s unity of effort and readiness to protect lives and property.
“Nolcom stands as one in preparing for the possible adverse effects of super typhoon Uwan. With the joint capabilities of the Army, Navy, and Air Force under Nolcom’s operational control, we are fully committed to deliver immediate assistance and ensure the safety of our people,” he said.
