Las Piñas emergency response teams on standby for 'Uwan'

Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar led the preparedness briefing for emergency response teams in light of the threat posed by Super Typhoon Uwan.
The emergency teams, comprising the Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office, Las Piñas City Police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, were placed on standby for immediate deployment to conduct rescue operations for residents who may be stranded due to flooding caused by the typhoon.
Plans and measures for a swift and effective response were finalized during the briefing to ensure the safety and well-being of every Las Piñero.
The mayor also said emergency vehicles, rescue boats, and equipment had already been positioned for immediate deployment.
Aguilar added that the city’s command center is operating 24/7 to monitor weather updates, and emergency hotlines have been activated for residents who may need immediate assistance.
She urged residents to remain vigilant and follow advisories from local authorities.
