About 114 families or 383 individuals in nine barangays in Pasig City evacuated early to evacuation centers as part of preemptive measures for Super Typhoon Uwan.

As early as 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, five evacuation centers in Pasig City already accommodated 31 families.

By around 6:30 p.m., the number of evacuees rose to 114 families currently taking shelter in the following evacuation centers:

The local government said that currently, 42 evacuation centers have been pre-set up in 27 barangays in the city. 

Mayor Vico Sotto encouraged residents in flood-prone areas to follow the advice of their Barangay officials in case of preemptive evacuation. 

He reminded them that it becomes more difficult and dangerous to evacuate once strong winds and heavy rains begin.

The city's Incident Management Team is also currently activated, with 1,287 personnel from various city departments on duty to ensure rapid response to residents’ needs.

In addition, a total of 28 pumping stations in the city are currently operating to help manage flooding.

Clearing operations are also ongoing on city roads, with personnel promptly removing fallen or broken tree branches and other debris to ensure road safety and accessibility.

According to the 8 p.m. bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the super typhoon is expected to make landfall over the central or northern part of Aurora.

As a result, Metro Manila is placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3, which may bring winds with moderate to significant threats to life and property.
