THE body of Nario sprawled on the ground after he was shot dead.
ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Bureau of Internal Revenue employee tagged as a person of interest in the recent murder of two BIR security guards in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay was shot dead on Friday night.
The Ipil municipal police identified the victim as Ian Jude Soriano Nario, 47, Revenue Officer II and Chief Processing Staff of BIR-Ipil office.
Investigation showed that Nario and his wife were returning to their vehicle after dining in a restaurant when two unidentified suspects on a motorcycle appeared and shot him. Nario died on the spot.
The suspect was earlier arrested for illegal possession of firearms in a checkpoint in Barangay Tayong, Ipil. Nario was reportedly shot after posting bail for the crime. Police are investigating both incidents.
