The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) is set to activate its Disaster Response Teams (DRTs) and maintain close coordination with local government units (LGUs) and local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs) in preparation for the expected impact of Typhoon Uwan.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, Rizal PPO Acting Provincial Director Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalco led a disaster preparedness program at the Parade Grounds, Camp MGen Licerio I. Geronimo in Taytay, Rizal.
During the activity, Rizal PPO personnel discussed disaster response plans, coordination with local DRRMO units, and safety reminders for both the public and police teams.
Also, pre-disaster risk assessments will be conducted, and weather updates and field reports will be continuously monitored until the typhoon threat has passed.
Gonzalco emphasized the importance of coordination, prompt action, and cooperation among police officers and partner agencies to ensure public safety during disasters.
Provincial Operations Management Unit (POMU) Acting Chief Maj. Joel L. Alvarez also presented the available resources of Rizal PPO, including search and rescue teams, medical units, quick reaction forces, and rescue equipment such as response vehicles and watercraft of the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).
The activity aimed to ensure that all municipalities in the province are prepared for disasters and to strengthen the readiness of police personnel and other units against the possible effects of the incoming typhoon.
Rizal PPO said initiatives like these demonstrate its ongoing commitment to responsible service and disaster preparedness as part of its promise to protect and serve every Rizaleño.
