Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano ordered the team of emergency and response teams to prepare for the threat of Severe Tropical Storm Uwan.
Rubiano said the team started to roll down billboard tarpaulins around the city to prevent being blown by strong winds, which may pose a danger.
She said the teams also conducted electrical wire bundling in Barangay 20 and covered canals with a steel plate along Aurora Boulevard, corner Andres Avenue, so as not to pose any dangers to motorists.
The mayor said PVC pipes were installed at the canals in Barangay 79 to ensure the smooth flow of water and prevent declogging that may cause flooding in the area.
Rubiano said emergency response assets from the Pasay City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), vehicles from the Mayor’s Office, a clearing team of the City Engineering Office, and other response vehicles were already on standby for immediate response.
