Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led a pre-disaster meeting with the Pasay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRMC) to put in place the necessary response to possible effects of Severe Tropical Storm Uwan.
Rubiano ordered the City Engineering Office and the Pasay City Environment and Natural Resources to monitor and clean creeks and canals around the city.
She asked the PDRMC teams to trim all trees and to roll down billboards that may fall and cause obstructions along the roads due to strong winds.
The mayor also ordered the positioning of rubber boats in flood-prone areas and the preparation of relief packs for flood victims.
She said the city government is readying all evacuation centers.
Teams from the health centers will convene on Nov. 9 to ensure their preparedness to respond to residents' medical needs during the typhoon.
