The Parañaque City Building Officials (CBO) advised building owners and residents to prepare and implement necessary measures for possible effects of Severe Tropical Storm Uwan.
The CBO called on establishment owners on Friday to roll down tarpaulins and switch off LED signs that may cause danger during strong winds.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez told residents to secure roofs, windows, and loose outdoor items, clean and drain gutters, and prepare emergency kits.
The city government also suspended all major construction works around the city, secured tower cranes and heavy equipment, and stored loose materials like sheets and plywood.
The mayor urged residents to monitor the Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office updates at fb.com/pquedrrmo. In case of emergency, they may call the Parañaque Local Operations Center at telephone number 8820-PQUE (7783).
