The city government of Manila, through the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MCDRRMC), has raised the red alert status in anticipation of the possible impacts of Tropical Storm Uwan on the city.
The directive, issued by Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and MDRRMO Director Arnel Angeles, aims to ensure a swift, efficient, and well-coordinated response from all concerned departments in the event of any emergency or weather-related incident.
According to the MCDRRMC, weather conditions across the city are being closely monitored.
Rescue teams, evacuation centers, and emergency response units have already been placed on standby to provide immediate assistance to affected residents if necessary.
All Manileños are urged to remain alert, follow official advisories from the local government, and immediately contact the MCDRRMO through hotline numbers 8527-0972 or 0961-062-0660 in case of any emergency.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety of every Manileño. Let us all stay vigilant, heed official warnings, and be prepared for any possible impact of the storm,” Domagoso emphasized.
